Welcome to THE ART ACADEMY!
The Art Academy was established in 1992 as the Connelly Art Academy on my
acreage south of Hickman, NE. Private and group art lessons were offered in
a friendly and creative art studio. In 2006 our family relocated to Lincoln, NE
and "The Connelly Art Academy" became "The Art Academy"!
Classes are structured around students' art interests. Lessons are designed
to inspire imagination and encourage creativity. Instructor demonstrates
each art technique before students develop their skills at handling the
medium. Lessons in drawing, painting, printmaking, illustration, Grafitti Art
pen and ink, sculpture,pottery and other art processes are explored. Realistic,
Abstract, and Nonobjective Art are incorporated into the art processes. Art
experiences in both 2-D and 3-D are explored. Students engage in portrait,
figure, animal, still life, scenery, linear perspective, and cartooning.
Famous artists and art periods are also included in the course work. Students
have the opportunity to experiment with many mediums including pencil,charcoal,
watercolor, acrylics, oil paints, blending colored pencils, oil pastels, printmaking, sculpey modeling compound, air-dry clay, wet-set modeling compound, creative
paperclay, plaster craft, and recycling art experiences.
